Welcome to Brownsville ISD Fine Arts Department. We are delighted to showcase student achievement. Visual arts program offers the student a balanced art curriculum based on Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and national standards: No Child Left Behind. Students learn art appreciation through two-dimensional, three-dimensional, dialogue and art history disciplines that provide well rounded experiences. Students compete in district, regional, state, national and international contests to build self-esteem and gain real world skills and experience. Visual Arts program support core subjects and challenge all students including Gifted & Talented, Advanced Placement, and Dual Enrollment to create self-expressions of original and aesthetically pleasing art. Fifty eight faculty members include 17 elementary, 20  middle  school,  21  high  school  teacher/artists  and  a  Supervisor of Visual Arts. Fine Arts Department in partnership with community art organizations make Brownsville a beautiful city rich in culture and heritage.
